VITAWOOD
VITAWOOD, located in West Adams, Los Angeles, was a community art space and gallery open from 2020 - 2022.
It continues on today as a pop-up event series and digital platform.
VITAWOOD served as a platform for queer artists. Artists had the opportunity to host workshops, art events, film music videos, and create virtual content.
A key feature of the space was an installation built by artist Vita Kari, which generated the virality to support the space.
VITAWOOD was envisioned as a fictional version of Los Angeles, with the intent of representing third-culture & queer identities and challenging traditional societal ideas of identity. A percentage of proceeds from the space were redistributed into "BIPOC Fund," a mutual fund that supports Black & Brown small business owners in LA.

PAST EVENTS;
On the forefront of the experiential art movement, Vitakari is LA’s first multimedia artist to combine immersive art installations with a genre-fluid music showcase. Vita curates these experiential events, titled “Vitawood,” to showcase LA local music, performance and visual art.
Creating her own world:
Her most recent event “Escape to Vitawood,” held at ULO WORLD @ Row DTLA, brought out a sold-out audience of over 300 people.
Musical performances included Ka5sh, SWSH, Hustlina, Vernell Daye, Orlando Kennedy, Thats Fih, and Vitakari herself.
The event included an escape room upon entry, an immersive maze with Vita’s visual art, leading to a stage with musical performances.
Supported by Audius, a new open-source music streaming platform.
“Vitawood is the magic alternative LA universe."
